乳がんの早期発見に - 早期乳がん（癌）発見をサポートするマンマグローブ

1. 胸全体を移すのに充分な大きさのある鏡の正面にたち、それぞれの胸になにか普段と違うことはないか確認します。しわやへこみ、うろこ状のものがないか確認します。
2. 鏡の近くによって、頭の後ろで手を握り、手を前方へ押し出します。
3. 次に、手をおしりにしっかりあて、鏡にむかって、肩と腕を前方に押し出しながら体を少し前方へ傾けます。ステップ2と3は、乳房の形の変化を調べる上で必要なステップです。
4. 両方の乳首をそっとひっぱったあと、その戻り方を見て、おかしいところがないか確認します。
5. 片方の腕を上げます。あげていないほうの手にマンマグローブをはめます。指があたる部分のパッドで乳房とその周辺部をしっかりと注意深く全体的に確認します。肌の下にいつもと違うこぶやかたまりはありませんか。指で500円硬貨くらいの大きさの円を描きながら押して乳房の組織を確認します。乳房全体を確実に確認するために、直線、円、くし型など一定のパターンに沿って動かしながら確認します。反対側も同様に行います。同じことを今度は横になった状態で繰り返します。仰向けになり、片腕を頭の上部へあげ、肩の下には枕かタオルを敷きます。こうすることで乳房が平らになり確認しやすくなります。マンマグローブをはめて先に述べたうちのひとつのパターンにそって乳房を注意深くまんべんなく確認します。普段と違うことがないかを確認することが大切です。反対側も同様に行います。

Glove - Breast Self Examination Tool for Discovering Early Breast Cancer Excluding skin cancers, Breast cancer is still the most common cancer among women. Incidence of breast cancer for women has increased from one in 20 in 1960 to one in seven today. More than 1.1 million cases of breast cancer are now diagnosed across the world each year, as compared with about 500,000 cases in 1975. In the United States about every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2005, it is estimated that about 212,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, along with 58,000 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer. Approximately 40,000 women are expected to die from this disease. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women. Though lung cancer is first, the major cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 40 and 55 is breast cancer.
As depressing and deplorable as these statistics appear, there is some good news. Deaths resulting from breast cancer have declined steadily since the early 1990s. This can be attributed primarily to better breast cancer treatment, greater breast cancer awareness, more screening, and changes in breast cancer risk factors. For example, the 5-year survival rate for localized breast cancer is now 97 percent. The 10-year survival rate of women diagnosed with breast cancer is almost 70 percent, and the 15-year survival rate is 15 percent. Compared to statistics of twenty years ago, these survival rates have more than doubled.
The key factor required to combat breast cancer is still, early detection. For the one in four women with breast cancer that will die due to this disease globally, most of them would have lived if their cancer had been diagnosed in early stage. Here is the most amazing statistic of all, however. Over 70% of all breast cancer are discovered during Breast Self Examination, commonly referred to as BSE. To assist with self examination, a new product has been designed that is more thorough than the human hand. The product is called the MammaGlove.
This revolutionary new product is a fingerless, gloveshaped design. It is actually comparable to a mitten. The MammaGlove truly is amazing. The MammaGlove is made of soft two-layer rubber that is filled with a special gel inside. Directions:
1. Stand in front of a mirror that is large enough for you to see your breasts clearly. Check each breast for anything unusual. Check the skin for puckering, dimpling, or scaliness.
2. Watching closely in the mirror, clasp your hands behind your head and press your hands forward.
3. Next, press your hands firmly on your hips and bend slightly toward the mirror as you pull your shoulders and elbows forward. Doing steps 2 and 3 are essential in order to check for any change in the shape or contour of your breasts.
4. Gently squeeze each nipple and look for a discharge.
5. Raise one arm. Place the MammaGlove on the hand that has not been raised in the air. This can be either your right or left hand in the MammaGlove. Use the pads of the fingers to check the breast and the surrounding area firmly, carefully, and thoroughly. Feel for any unusual lump or mass under the skin. Feel the tissue by pressing your fingers in small, overlapping areas about the size of a dime. To be sure you cover your whole breast, take your time and follow a definite pattern: lines, circles, or wedges. Lower your arm and raise the opposite arm and conduct this same procedure on the opposite side. It is important to repeat this same step while you are lying down. Lie flat on your back, with one arm over your head and a pillow or folded towel under the shoulder. This position flattens the breast and makes it easier to check. While wearing the MammaGlove, check each breast and the area around it very carefully using one of the patterns described above. Remember, what you are looking for are unusual changes from your normal. Switch arms and repeat this same procedure on the opposite breast.
